Oh What a Day!

Today has been an adventure, to say the least. We ended up riding waaaayyy further than we thought we would and it was waaayyyy hotter than we thought it would be! Nonetheless we had an amazing day.

Once we passed Spokane it felt a bit like driving through hell. Tumbleweeds, crazy heat and no one else around for miles. Once we found the Columbia River, though, things got a lot more interesting. In fact, there were spots that were so spectacular the pictures we took will never do them justice.

We stopped a few times along the way. Once for popsicles and cherries, once for a dip in the river and once because there was a huge traffic pile up and we needed to wait it out in the shade. (That, on its own, was an adventure. Rob makes friends with anyone. In this case he found a fellow biker sitting in the shade. His bike trailer was full of guns and guitars! Go figger!)

We've found our hotel for the night, have taken a swim and are heading out for a steak dinner and cold beer.
